Terms of Service
1. What FDD Shield is
FDD Shield is a set of website, document and access protection services: the WordPress plugin (“Shield Plugin”), monitored protection for websites on any hosting (“Shield Care”), server monitoring with an installed agent (“Shield Server”) and a one-off security audit (“Security Audit”). The exact scope of each service is described on fddshield.com at the time of purchase.
2. Account and eligibility
Services are intended for businesses and professionals. You must provide accurate contact and invoicing details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You may only add websites and servers that you own or are authorised to protect.
3. Ordering and payment
Plans are ordered in the customer portal app.fddshield.com and paid through our store pay.fdd24.com using Paysera (bank link or card). Prices are shown excluding VAT; VAT (21 %) is added at checkout. Monthly and yearly plans are prepaid for the chosen period and do not renew automatically – you receive a reminder before expiry and may renew at any time. A VAT invoice is sent by e-mail after every payment. The Security Audit is a one-off service.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You may stop using a plan at any time; access remains until the end of the prepaid period. If a service cannot be delivered for reasons on our side, we refund the unused period. For business customers the statutory 14-day withdrawal right does not apply; we nevertheless refund the first monthly payment in full if you request it within 14 days and no alert has yet been handled for you.
5. What we do – and what we do not promise
We monitor, detect, report and, where the plan includes it, help remediate. No security service can guarantee that a system will never be compromised or that a document cannot be copied by an authorised recipient. We do not promise uninterrupted operation of the monitored systems, and we are not responsible for the security of hosting providers, third-party plugins or your own credentials. Findings of the free website check are informational only.
6. Your access data
For Shield Care you provide read-only FTP/SFTP credentials. They are stored encrypted, used solely by our monitoring servers, never shared, and deleted within 30 days after the plan ends. You may revoke them at any time in your hosting panel. For Shield Server you install an agent whose source you can review; it reports security events to our monitoring server and can be uninstalled at any time.
7. Alerts and decisions
Alerts are sent by e-mail (and SMS where included) to the contacts in your account. Decisions that change your systems – restoring files, blocking access – are always taken by you or by a person on our team with your agreement, never automatically.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use FDD Shield to test, scan or monitor systems you are not authorised to, to interfere with our infrastructure or to resell the service without a written agreement.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected with the services is limited to the amount you paid for the affected service in the 12 months before the event. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profit or data loss caused by third parties.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms and prices; changes apply to new orders and renewals and are announced on fddshield.com at least 14 days in advance. We may suspend an account that violates these terms or fails to pay.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. Disputes are resolved by negotiation first and otherwise in the courts of Lithuania.
